Captured during the 2016 Gallup Parade in Gallup, New Mexico, this photo series highlights the striking colors, intricate featherwork, and cultural expression on display throughout the celebration. I was especially drawn to the energy of the dancers and the incredible detail of their attire, from the vibrant headdresses to the hand-painted designs.
As I moved through the crowd, I found myself taking photo after photo, hoping to preserve the beauty and movement of each moment. These images reflect not only the visual richness of the event but also the pride, tradition, and artistry shared by the participants. Looking back, they remain some of my favorite photographs from a day filled with culture, community, and unforgettable color.
