One of the things I love most about the Southwest is how the landscape can change so dramatically from one mile to the next. During one of our drives through New Mexico, we found ourselves surrounded by towering cliffs, colorful rock formations, and rugged canyon walls that seemed to stretch endlessly into the distance.
The layers of red, orange, and cream-colored sandstone told a story that had been written over thousands of years. Even from the road, the scenery was impossible to ignore. I found myself reaching for my camera whenever another breathtaking view came into sight.

What struck me most was the scale of everything. The massive cliffs and rock walls made it easy to feel small in comparison, while the homes and roads tucked into the landscape served as a reminder of how people have adapted to life in this beautiful but rugged environment.
Some places leave an impression not because of what you do there, but because of how they make you feel. This was one of those places.
