This photo of my friend Hazel was taken during a casual photo session at Bell Church, La Trinidad, Benguet when we were simply having fun and trying different ideas. At one point, she raised her hands and formed a frame around her face, and I thought it would make for an interesting shot. The moment felt natural and unplanned, which is probably why I still like this photograph years later. Sometimes the best photos aren’t the ones you carefully prepare for—they’re the ones that happen in between.
